Last week I got to be part of a very special birthday present. Bil, a client of mine whose wedding I am shooting in June, organised a surprise photo shoot for her sister for her 21st birthday. She bought balloons, made a cake, the whole hog. She even bought her a gorgeous little apple for her desk when she becomes a teacher… It was very sweet. I love to see some sisterly love. I only have a brother so to see two sisters, although very different, have such special moments is just lovely. Here are some images from this cute and thoughtful session.

Yesterday I posted the lovely pics of baby Connor. Today, you get to see the day he arrived.

I was very lucky and honored to be asked to do this. It was one of the most special moments of my life so far.

By the time he arrived I was bawling, it was so very emotional. I still tear up watching this slideshow.

I had a very extraordinary experience last week. I got to witness a baby being born. This baby you are about to see in fact. It was so fantastic, scary, emotional, intense, but so very special.

Connor’s mum has been a very good friend of mine since we were in first year of high school. That’s well over half our lives now! Scary! What has been so awesome, is that through my camera, I have been there for so many of the major moments in her life. I shot her wedding, her maternity shots when she was pregnant for the first time and newborn shots of her first son Lachie. Now I have been there to watch and capture the birth of her second son Connor and again to capture him in his first week of life. We have a very special friendship, one I will treasure forever.

And this is Lachie. He is just the best kid. Always happy and smiley. I hope I get a couple like these two one day!

Last Friday I met Belinda and Shaun for a lovely portrait session out in the sun. They have been married for a couple of years but were after some relaxed informal shots, they even brought their two dogs along! The dogs were loving running about in the field and especially munching on the long green grass. Here are just a few from their session.

Oh, and a little plug for Belinda. She runs her own business called “The Crystal Chandelier” making beautiful wedding invitations. Have a look!

When I get to shoot former wedding client’s babies, I get excited. But this little gem is sooooo special. Little Livi was born when her mum was only 24 weeks pregnant. She is such a fighter. And so are her folks. 3 months of hospital visits till she was finally allowed to come home. These pics were taken on Tuesday, just 5 or so days after her original due date. Livi you were so good and sooooo cute.

Little Lachie is the first bub from our group of friends. So exciting!!! I recently posted a couple of shots from Michelle’s pregnancy shoot and here are some shots of the beautiful little boy that was in the belly…. adorable.

I have known Michelle since I was 12. I got to shoot her wedding a couple of years ago and now I get to take pictures of her beautiful belly!

This was my last shoot of the year before I went on “holidays”. I did manage to have a little break but it’s hard to toally switch off when you have your computer at home.

Just to stay true to the trend of the year this shoot was also very HOT… we got down the beach really early and it was already scorching and full of people. We managed to get the kids playing with the sand and got some shots in before the sun got too bad.
